My Fat Story

270 Pounds

As of this post I am 37 years old, 220 pounds and still have a ways to go. Like a lot of people I have struggled with body weight most of my life. It wasn't until 2019 that I became completely fed up, and decided to make a lasting change. I am 5 foot 4 inches tall and in January of 2019 I weighed 270 pounds. I was a short fat guy, putting it nicely. It came to a head as I was doing something that should have been physically easy to do as a 33 year old, but was ridiculously hard for me because of the condition I had allowed myself to get too. I remember thinking to myself "Chris, this is fucking stupid.", "Chris, you are a 33 year old man, and can't do a simple physical tasks without being out of breath." The most important realization was when I told myself; "Chris, you have got to take control and do something about this." You have nobody but yourself to blame and you are responsible for changing your situation. I was mad at myself, I was fed up with what I had allowed myself to become. It was the catalyst I needed to kick my ass into gear to make the life changes necessary to get healthy, and have a better quality of life. My goal is to share my journey through the ups and downs from when I started to now, and beyond. I feel like there are a lot of people who can relate to my struggles with weight loss, health, and fitness. I took responsibility for where I was and accepted that it was my fault, and that I had to be the one to take ownership. Since then I have had many ups and downs, and through this blog I will share my experiences. I hope that some of what I have to tell will help others.
